Sanskrit Practice


Guidelines

  1. Click Full Screen (right bottom corner) - The view will change to Fullscreen. To exit the Fullscreen view and return to this page press Esc (top left key on your keyboard).
  2. To practice, select a sequence of Devanagari letters by clicking the first letter and dragging through to the last.
  3. Please note the three blue ON/OFF buttons labeled ROMAN, SOUND, and ARTICULATION. These determine the hints provided if you don't recognize a Devanagari letter and ask for HELP. Please select your preferences now.

The flashcard has 2 modes of operation: MANUAL and AUTO.

  1. MANUAL
    1. Click NEXT (green button) to change a letter. Each new letter comes randomly from your current selection.
    2. Click HELP (red button) to get the hints you previously chose from: ROMAN transliteration, SOUND pronunciation, and ARTICULATION points image.
  2. AUTO
    1. Click PLAY to change the letters automatically.
      DELAY: controls the time between changes in seconds.
    2. If you selected at least one help hint, it will appear for a short time after the DELAY before moving to the next letter.
